| Total Parts Plus Adds Virtual Chip Exchange (VCE) as New Distributor |
| |
Fort Walton Beach, Florida, June 29, 2005 - Total Parts Plus (TPP), a leader in electronic component supply-chain management, is pleased to announce Virtual Chip Exchange (VCE) as a distribution partner.
VCE, an international trading hub for chips, has joined Total Parts Plus` distributor program. The distributor program allows preferred vendors such as VCE to be sourced as an aftermarket supplier of parts within the Total Parts Plus application. This gives TPP customers more options to search for obsolete or hard-to-find parts simply by clicking on the shopping cart search feature.
"Obtaining VCE as a distributor is beneficial for our customers because we are able to give them more options for locating aftermarket sources," said Total Parts Plus vice president of sales, Rick Cleveland. "VCE benefits by getting exposure to our customers, some of which they would not have had contact with otherwise."
"We really like to focus on what the customer needs are. Extensive research has shown that a large portion of our customers can utilize the market that VCE provides,? Cleveland goes on to say.
Michael Wood, CEO of Virtual Chip Exchange, commented, "As the Lead-Free initiative RoHS gains momentum towards the July 2006 deadline, more and more customers are turning to Virtual Chip for help in locating specific components. Our partnership with TPP will allow customers access to a large database of information, not only for RoHS compliance, but also obsolescence management."
"Most importantly," Wood added, "continued access to obsolete components is critical to the life-cycle management of many of our customers products. Virtual Chip`s unique member-to-member business model provides access to obsolete components long after the manufacture discontinues regular production. One look at the Virtual Chip website provides an instant and complete overview of current market conditions."
The TPP suite of products and services provide information and reporting for DMS Management, RoHS Compliance, Alternate Equivalents, Alternate Sourcing, PCN information, and Life Cycle Predictions. VCE will be represented as an aftermarket distributor agent within the TPP application, enabling customers more alternatives for finding part information.
